We provide social and leisure activities during school holidays and stimulating and exciting residential short breaks to children with severe disabilities.
We give the children and young people an amazing opportunity to do challenging and fun activities such as canoeing, high ropes, abseiling, gorge walking, zip wire, something not many disabled children get the chance to do.
Why the community needs usWe provide fun and exciting activities to children and young people in Leeds with severe disabilities and their brothers and sisters. We provide one to one support to ensure that every child can benefit and be fully supported at their own pace to help them to take on new challenges and access sporting, leisure and social activities during holidays and weekends.We have a large team of experienced and skilled staff and also recruit many young people locally to help as volunteers.
Our impact on the communityWe always ask the children and young people we support to let us know their views and what sort of service they want us to provide. We have enabled over 70 disabled children to enjoy exciting weekends away from home often for the first time and this has in turn helped their mums and dads to have a break and time to relax and do something for themselves or with other family members. We have also provided day time activities to over 85 disabled youngsters in the school holidays.
