Support the work of the Trust and the railway at this difficult time please.

A dynamic charity that supports the Wensleydale Railway's growth. We must tackle a number of projects, firstly, changes in the regulations mean we must upgrade our level crossings with new LED lights and electronics in the immediate future. This will allow us to reopen the Railway to Northallerton to allow passenger trains to reach us from the national network and trains will be able to call at our award winning station at Scruton. Why the community needs us
Our work is in support of the community owned and managed, not for profit, Wensleydale Railway (plc) which has re-opened 22 miles of railway. This has brought train services back to 5 towns and villages in the Dale (Leyburn, Bedale, Finghall, Redmire and Leeming Bar) after many decades of closure. We do the vital extras that add to community benefits.

Our impact on the community
Our main beneficiaries are the local communities in Wensleydale, volunteers and school children who use the restored facilities at Scruton Station. We have been supporting the re-opening of the extension to Northallerton West, the training of volunteers, have supported the construction of covered shed accommodation at Leeming Bar to help give decent working conditions for volunteers and the railway's small staff and protect heritage locos, and supports current Leeming Bar station improvements.
