Supporting our community to make positive changes we all wish for and inspiring the next generation
Together we are stronger and by coming together and pooling resources, skills and support we can help our community deal with poverty, unemployment, poor mental wellbeing, motivation, boredom, and isolation. Through positive role models and new opportunities and activities we hope to inspire, support and help the community local and afar of all ages, genders, races and abilities achieve their potential and make our communities vibrant fun and friendly spaces to live in.
Why the community needs usWe kept the community centre from being demolished and have reopened it providing spaces for parties and community events, run after school, holiday and family activities, youth club, skills training, councillor surgeries, recycling bags, education courses. We've developed woodworkshop, craft room, community garden, family play space, and support local business, flying start, and other third sector organisations operate by providing a space for them to hire and develop their business in.
Our impact on the communityWe've seen over 200 people of all ages volunteer to develop the community garden space, created a hungry caterpillar play sculpture that has been climbed on by more than 40000 children from across Wales. We have provided regular food donations to over 300 families (accessible fresh 5 days a week), over 40 emergency food bags per month, 50 affordable food bags per month, ran 130 family cooking sessions, 150 community garden sessions, seen over 1500 people at community celebrations and much more
