Wales Development Programme
Supporting charities and community groups in Wales to develop their digital fundraising skills
About The Programme
Localgiving has so far supported 350+ groups in Wales to develop their digital fundraising skills through its Wales Development Programme. This is thanks to generous funding and support from Big Lottery Wales and Garfield Weston. The programme offers bespoke and intensive support that will empower local voluntary groups to connect with supporters, raise funds online and take control of their financial future.

Free downloadable resources
In 2020, Localgiving developed a guidebook that is designed to help organisations across Wales benefit from online fundraising and build it as a new income stream. It provides comprehensive information and tasks for causes to work through independently.
There is a digital version of the guidebook that is perfect for looking through and filling in on a computer. There is also a print version of the guidebook that is perfect for printing in order to share a hard copy of the resource or to complete by hand yourself if you prefer.
A 'how to’ document to assist in using the resource and adding text to the tasks is also available:
English - 'how to’ document to accompany the guidebook
Welsh - 'how to’ document to accompany the guidebook
To access the guidebook in English or Welsh please follow this link: http://training.localgiving.org/wales

The Wales Development Programme has been generously funded by Big Lottery Wales and Garfield Weston. We are also accredited signatories to the Welsh Digital Inclusion Charter, which reflects our commitment to addressing digital exclusion in Wales through our development programme.
Having a Localgiving membership provides a space for smaller local charities like us to run exciting fundraising campaigns. The format gives potential donors the impetus to support our charity as they feel they are part of something really exciting and individual.
One of the huge advantages of being a Localgiving member is that you never feel you are on your own, there is always someone or somewhere you can go for help. Online fundraising enables us to reach people who are sympathetic to our cause who we didn’t even know existed. The online tips, advice and poster templates are invaluable. Donations are automatically paid into the bank account and the admin surrounding gift aid is taken care of.
