Bath Welcomes Refugees seeks to help bring refugees to safety and to support their resettlement.

BWR is a volunteer-run organisation offering practical support and befriending to refugees, empowering them to thrive independently in their resettlement. We also campaign on a local and national level to further the interests of refugees and to push for more families and individuals to be brought to safety.

We support and assist agencies who are involved in settling refugees and as a Community Sponsorship Group we are able to take full responsibility for welcoming and resettling individual refugee families to the area. We prepare welcoming homes, offer language training, employment and educational support. We also organise a range of social groups and social events for the refugee community, offering friendship and support to help alleviate cultural isolation and facilitate social integration.

Raising money from a range of activities and events is vital for BWR's ability to continue to offer the support it has to date provided and to ensure future growth. Increasingly we are working with those coming through new schemes such as the Homes for Ukraine initiative and the Ukraine Family Scheme.
