About the appeal

Like many charities our reserves and fundraising capacity have both significantly reduced during the Covid-19 crisis. Despite this shortfall throughout Autumn and Winter 2020/21 we have delivered weekly in-house and outreach sessions for children, youth people and families experiencing financial hardship, food poverty and physical/mental wellbeing issues.
Since October we have been delivering weekly support sessions for Children 5-11 and Young People 12-15 in the form of Food Aid, Wellbeing Packs, Activity Packs and Book & Board Game exchange packs and Mentoring. The funding for these sessions will ended on the 30th March 2021.
We know that for many children and young people still need support as their wellbeing has been compromised by time off school and extended periods in lockdown. We know that the 3rd period of LOCKDOWN pushed many people to all time lows and even some of the most robust people have had low moods and dark days. For vulnerable families living on basic incomes in crowded accommodation this had a highly significant impact on the coping skills of the whole family. The longer lockdown continued the more need there was for support and post lockdown recovery work.
In the coming weeks we hope to open our doors wide to the community and we want to be able to provide support and activities that will help children, young people and families heal and regain their momentum.

Your donation will help us to keep our doors open to vulnerable children and young people and sponsor activities that will help them build their resilience and regain their sparkle and zest for life.
With your help we will provide children and young people with a weekly space to talk, sit and eat a meal and engage in play and leisure activities, get wellbeing support, play and have FUN.

From October 2020 - March 2021 we deliver weekly support to sessions for Children 5-11 and Young People 12-15 in the form of Food Aid, Wellbeing Packs, Activity Packs and Book & Board Game exchange packs and Mentoring. In addition we provided free school meals during October half term and have distributed 30 family meal and activity bags each week. We want to continue to provide support to children and young people post-Lockdown.
