Welcome to Age Cymru Powys. We want everyone to be able to love later life.

We are your local independent charity providing Information, Advice and Support for older people, their families and carers in Powys for many years (formerly Age Concern Powys).

Each year we help around 2,000 older Powys residents with over 5,000 issues. One of them could be you, a friend or a relative.

We provide a wide variety of services including:

We support older people locally by holding outreach surgeries across Powys to ensure that we reach those in rural farming communities.

We also visit older people at home, in hospitals and in care homes; wherever we are needed.

Why the community needs us
We help older people with many issues such as loneliness, care provision, applying for benefits, help with form-filling (e.g. disabled parking badges), scams advice and money worries.

We support older local Powys residents with complex life-changing decisions to ensure their voice is heard and they remain safe.

We support the family, carers and friends of older Powys residents.

Our services are much-needed and we are often the first place people come to, to get the help they need.

Our impact on the community
Last year we secured over £1 million of unclaimed benefits payments for older Powys residents!

Benefits advice is a much-needed service to help prevent older people in Powys living in poverty.

Our Simply Nails service has 8 Powys clinics for older people who struggle to cut their toenails; each year we provide over 1,500 toenail cutting treatments and 100 community sessions.

Our Friendship Services combat loneliness and increase wellbeing for many local older Powys residents.
