We support the emotional wellbeing of young people in Solihull to see them flourish and Shine!

Why the community needs us
We deliver weekly 1:1 Pastoral Mentoring and Wellbeing Group courses to young people coping with bereavement, family breakdown and a range of mental health and emotional wellbeing issues such as anxiety, anger, low mood, self-harm and low self-esteem. Local secondary schools and parents have told us they don't know what they would do without our support for their young people. As in all areas of the country, there is a long wait for NHS/other services.

Our impact on the community
We mentor 100 young people each year and run Wellbeing Groups for 100 more. The feedback is extremely positive:
"My mentor helped me learn about my anger and how to be in control of it" (13 year old girl).
"When my brother took his own life there was no one else I could talk to. My mentor has massively helped me and I don't know how I would have coped without them;" (14 year old boy).
"I have really enjoyed the BREATHE course. It has helped me to know how to control anxiety and the strategies are really helpful."
"At CREATED I have learnt to feel confident in myself and my strengths. I've found about strengths I didn't know about before."
“I can think of several students whom I don’t think would have sat their GCSEs without the difference their weekly mentoring sessions have made, and three who have avoided permanent exclusion from school" (Assistant Headteacher).
"The weekly mentoring sessions are hugely valuable here. there have been disclosures about self-harm and suicidal throughs made by students to their mentors which could mean that their mentoring sessions have saved their lives. I am not certain they would have disclosed to anyone else" (School Pastoral Manager).
