About the appeal

How communities can support each other this winter.

We know that over 60,000 households across the Kirklees area already are living in poverty. Now more than ever, it is crucial that your giving is as effective as possible. It is also vital that it reaches people and communities in most need.

The increase in the energy price cap will drive more people than ever into fuel poverty. The Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, recently announced that every household in England, Scotland and Wales would receive £400 from October to help with the steep increase in energy costs.

We are asking those that are financially stable enough to forgo the payment and to give it to One Community Foundation to support people living in fuel and food poverty. #DonateTheRebate.
