Vision Support a charity focused on Independence and Equality.
Aiding people experiencing vision impairment in maintaining their independence and autonomy, whilst raising awareness of the challenges faced by those with sight loss. The funds we raise help us to continue the vital work we do, for example; running our North Wales Resource Centres where we provide information, support, access to specialist equipment to assist in daily tasks and digital inclusion training with the aim of enabling people with sight loss to be independent.
Why the community needs usAlong side our Resource Centres where you can come in for information or for one of our event days demonstrating new low vision aids. We also have our mobile information units that visit local communities giving vital access to our service, especially for people living in rural areas. We also facilitate social groups which are great way for people with sight loss to meet and support each other through sharing their experiences.
Our impact on the communityStatistics show that as many as 2 out of 3 people with sight loss are not receiving any support. We need to reach as many of these people as possible and we can't do it all by ourselves. Our aim is to engage with local communities across the region raising awareness of the challenges faced by people with vision impairment. To take our knowledge and skills to community groups to train and empower them to become inclusive for people with sight loss.
