FBC provides support, advice and education for people and their families who are dealing with stress and trauma as a result of the Northern Ireland Troubles. By providing lifelong learning experiences people develop on a personal level enhancing their contribution to their own community and beyond.
Why the community needs usFBC provides a safe and positive environment where people and their families can come together to share experinces and concerns. Their lives are enhanced through education and social engagement improving their self-esteem and confidence. Working with every gender and generation we recognise healing cannot occur in isolation as community members develop a greater sense of shared understanding and a better sense of getting on with and respecting each other.
Our impact on the communityWe work through 6 Key Projects - Older ladies, Young Mums, Men, Family Bonding Youth Project, Complimentary Therapies and Drop in advice and support. Currently we work with over 100 people on a very regular basis but the impact is much further reaching as it has a knock on effect and influences positive behaviour in participants families and the community.
Families Beyond Comnflict is always seeking to enhance and develop the services it offers to the local community. Any volunteer role will enhance that principle through hands on contact or governace and leadership.
