Supporting people into the construction industry and bringing empty properties back to life.
Renovating empty buildings whilst at the same time providing construction training opportunities for marginalised people
Why the community needs usOur workshop in Southwark provides a safe space for out trainees to come and learn construction skills in a supportive and friendly environment. Trainees, many of whom have experience of homelessness or long term unemployment, also have the opportunity to practise their skills on our renovation projects, which bring much needed empty properties in London back into use.
Our impact on the communityWe aim to help up to 100 people each year. Each person receives advice and support from an advocate. Over the past year, over 70% of the people we dealt with took part in education or training and over 40% had some experience of paid work.
We need someone with knowledge of recruitment agency work, particularly with regards to supplying the construction sector. We need their insights to help us develop an exciting new idea.
