Undertake practical local projects that build community resilience and cut carbon commissions
We are a very active Transition Town group that works across the University and Town on a wide range of carbon cutting and resilience building projects. Our dynamic group comprises of residents, University staff and students all supported by a skilled staff team who together deliver projects under the themes of Food, Local Economy, Transport, Housing and Energy.

Our impact on the communityIn 2014 we engaged with over 3300 people, ran over 170 events, grew 350kg of food in our 11 growing spaces, re-used over 1200kg household goods, worked with over 60 volunteers, helped reduce fuel bills by £38000 and saved over 370tCO2e since 2012
