Everyone should be treated fairly and equally. When it comes to seeking justice, many people find that they need help during a challenging time in their life. "The difference you have made to me is invaluable and has made a tremendous difference to myself and my two young girls. It was like when somebody is drowning in the middle of the ocean with no hope and suddenly the rescue services come and rescue you". We ensure that poverty and disadvantage aren't barriers to high quality representation.
Why the community needs usYour support helps people facing homelessness and discrimination; people in poor health and mental health; people with disabilities; people facing extreme hardship and destitution; people standing up to domestic violence and exploitation.It is difficult to gain access to the justice you need when every day is a struggle. Specialist staff and volunteers at Avon and Bristol Law Centre give people free legal expertise and friendly support so they can exercise their right to justice.
Our impact on the community'Justice' means different things to different people. We see how justice helps: women and children stay safe from violence and exploitation; families in poverty gain extra income; people with disabilities achieve accessible workplaces; overturn unfair dismissals; get better support for people experiencing poor mental health; secure accommodation for families at risk of homelessness and older people tackle isolation through greater independence.
