Virtual Reality Wishes

During the first lockdown the Ambulance Wish Foundation had to put wishes on hold. When lockdown eased, we began to review wish requests on a case by case basis and have been able to fulfil some more wishes. In order to better support our service users through this second lockdown and beyond, we want to start offering Virtual Reality wishes.
We were inspired by one of our supporters, Mac, who completed a Virtual Reality challenge and raised £150 for our charity.
Virtual Reality distraction therapy effectively immerses a patient, this tricks the brain into being present in another reality. This overwhelms the brain with information which leads to a reduction in anxiety and pain. Entering the world of Virtual Reality would allow us to grant wishes to those who are too unwell or anxious to leave their homes for a wish. The chance to fulfil a wish at home would be life changing for many in this situation.
