We offer music classes, performances, qualifications & workshops in traditional & contemporary music
To provide access and opportunities for participation in music activities, in disadvantaged areas of Belfast, especially for children & young people / To enhance & develop the skills & creative ability of participants / To encourage and build tolerance, trust, respect and understanding among cultural, traditional, ethnic and disabled communities / To contribute towards the development of the musical arts sector within Belfast
Why the community needs usOur project offers a creative programme of opportunities that encourages participation in the musical arts. This is significant, as there are no other community based music organisations, existing within Belfast, offering such a wide range of opportunity for engagement in traditional & contemporary music activities. Young people in disadvantaged areas have access to weekly music classes that are syllabus structured & offer accredited qualifications from grades 1 - 8.
Our impact on the communityApproximately 750 participants attend weekly music classes. On average, 100 participants achieve accredited qualifications, annually. In the region of 450 engage in performances, annually.
We are looking for people with expertise who can devote time to the governance of a charity recognised as the leading arts provider for children and young people in Belfast
