An inclusive theatre charity in the heart of Islington working with children and young people
We strive to include all children and young people in our weekly evening Performing Arts workshops and performances, including those with disabilities, impairments and behavioural needs. We make excellent new theatre each term involving our member's ideas and allowing them to express themselves freely. We train volunteers in our inclusive theatre methods and performance skills.
Why the community needs usAngel Shed is based on Holloway Road and we work with some of the most disadvantaged children and young people in Islington. Islington is the 24th most deprived local authority in the UK, with over a third of its population living in poverty. We never hold auditions and never turn members away if they cannot afford our subscription fees. Currently 60% of all our members cannot pay for full subscription fees.
Our impact on the communityLast year we worked with 500 children and young people from aged 5-16 and 50 volunteers came through our training program. ""Angel Shed is something that we can't afford to lose, It has had such a profound impact on my child and she would rather be nowhere else" Parent.
