A safe place for young people to meet.Expert help for troubled young people.Community focused
Opened in June 2005, its aim is to provide a safe place for young people to meet their friends in Haslemere on a Friday night. As the only non-church club in the Town it makes only a small charge for attendance. All are welcome. It asks nothing of the young people outside sensible rules of decency and fairness but an expert ear is always available to listen to problems or queries on a confidential trusted basis.
Why the community needs usTo take young people off the streets on a Friday night, hopefully with lower vandalism and anti-social bahaviour. Specific focus by highly trained youth workers on addressing the problems of young people with the objective of helping them to enjoy themselves but ultimately to help prepare them for adulthood. This would include addressing low self-esteem and poor inter-personal skills.
Our impact on the communityNumbers of young people attending. Numbers being given specific support to help individuals cope with their often chaotic home life. Details of projects that have a direct impact on the community in which they live.
We are always looking for volunteers to help us provide a service to young people on a Friday night. Volunteers can either work every Friday night in term time or once or more friday night each month or simply be available if the team require them
