We are a youth centre working to improve the life chances of young people in North Belfast.
We are a youth work organisation that delivers a range of innovative programmes for young adults, families and children. We address key themes of Education, Employment, Poverty and Empowerment through our work. We want to make young people better citizens, help them achieve at school; support them into employment and give them the skills to make informed decisions about their futures.
Why the community needs usArtillery aims to provide services primarily to young people aged between 15 and 25 and works with marginalised groups including young parents, young offenders, youth at risk and school refusers. Over the last ten years, Artillery has established itself as a key innovative youth provider in the area that attracts young people that are hard to reach and which often do not engage with mainstream youth services or mainstream education.
Our impact on the communityThe lives of young people and their families will be improved as a result of the range of programming and services offered by Artillery Youth Centre, its staff and volunteers. We work with hundreds of young people each year and help them gain qualifications, improve their skills, get into employment, tackle social issues such as bullying, violence and isolation. We operate a drop in centre 7 days a week and have an open access policy that will not turn any young person away.
