Replacement Tennis Clubhouse
A friendly welcome awaits players of all ages and abilities at Badshot Lea Tennis Club (BLTC)
We are a lively and sociable club, with opportunities for both social and competitive play.
With 2 all-weather hard courts, soon to have floodlights, we will shortly be able to offer all year round play to our members and the wider community wishing to enjoy the sport.  We are a registered LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) Venue and have a LTA Level 3 coach, providing both junior and adult coaching programmes.

We are currently fundraising to replace our dilapidated clubhouse.
Planning permission has been obtained for the Badshot Lea Tennis Club improvement plan - floodlights for the two courts and a replacement clubhouse. This Localgiving initiative is for the replacement of the clubhouse. The clubhouse is to be replaced with a fully-accessible one. The facility will provide a place where club members and club visitors can meet within a safe and friendly all-inclusive environment for social get-togethers after league matches and on club nights.

The Club has been working well since opening after lockdown. It has managed to meet the COVID-19 safety requirements and helped maintain physical and mental health through the pandemic. Tennis is a socially-distanced sport, but Covid-safe use of equipment and clubhouse has incurred more costs, with reduced capacity and has been limited by the old clubhouse. The replacement of the Club house will be a huge improvement on the current very tired, non-accessible building. The new one will be light, accessible and a very welcoming space for visitors and members.

The tennis club has been surrounded on two sides over the last couple of years by housing developments. The local residents using the recreation ground next to the club have commented on the tiredness of the 'hut' and what a great improvement the new clubhouse will be and may join the club so they can play tennis close to home and through out the year.

Fundraising
BLTC have been actively fundraising and planning, however, delays and Brexit have meant rising material costs and we currently face a shortfall of £20,000 to complete the overall project.

We have managed to secure funding from both National and Local funders and the Club's members have already generously donated towards the project.  To everyone who has supported this project so far, a big THANK YOU.

This is the final push, so that we can complete the whole project and enable more people to access and enjoy tennis for many years to come.

Further information about the club can be found on the Club's website:

Volunteers needed

BLTC welcome new members of all abilities. A range of membership options are available, plus public ‘pay and play’ Away from tennis, if your skillset includes fundraising or you are prepared to help out in general with the club then that would be welcome also.
