Main Community Sports Development Organisation in Belfast and Northern Ireland.
Established in 2006, Belfast Community Sports Development Network (BCSDN) became the primary provider of sport and physical activity to clubs, community groups and school across Belfast and Northern Ireland. BCSDN employs Sports for Development Facilitators to deliver diverse programmes under areas such as personal development, health, good relations, crime diversion, employment and community regeneration all of which are targeted at underrepresented groups.
Why the community needs usBCSDN develops partnerships with groups across Belfast and Northern Ireland to provide structured activity in local venues. We develop and implement physical activity and sports related programmes in areas such as residential/care settings, youth facilities, sports clubs and schools. The organisation works in partnership to deliver programmes using sport and physical activity as the platform to impact on particular outcomes around health, good relations, crime and employment.
Our impact on the communityBCSDN delivers sport and physical activity to 5,000 people per annum and delivers approx 25 Sport for Development Programmes per week in a various settings. BCSDN delivers 6000 hours of structured sport and physical activity to approx 5000 individuals per annum.
