Our charity was established in 1978 when the villagers and Kettering Borough Council collaborated to build a village hall on the existing playing fields.Since that time the volunteer management committee have continued to improve the facilities and the hall and surrounding fields are used by 17 different groups covering sports, pre-school, dance, fitness classes, drama, scouts etc. We have just launched an ambitious project which will improve pre-school, sports and drama facilities at the site.
Why the community needs usWe have really nice facilities which are enjoyed by young and old all year round - it is a fantastic asset available to all and used as a venue for celebrations, parties and other external events, and then of course there are the swings and slides. The Committee are particularly keen to encourage new and different uses of the facilities -local theatre & arts and other local events to promote variety and provide access to all in keeping with our Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee field status
Our impact on the communityIn the last 14 years the various Committees have put in an immense amount of effort and energy into revitalising the Village Hall, refurbishing the rooms, redecorating the building, improving security and enhancing the recreational facilities. As a result, we have a Village Hall offering pleasant surroundings and a village resource we can all be proud of. However, there is always more to do and plans to extend the hall and provide an all weather sports and skateboard area is our next challenge
To join the management committee and help with the various aspects of running and maintaining the hall and surrounding playing fields
