The relief of those with acquired deafness and the hard of hearing resident in the Cambridge area.
Our vision is to enable people in Cambridgeshire with acquired deafness to participate fully in society. CAMTAD aspires to prevent acquired deafness by educating future generations.
Why the community needs usCAMTAD supports people who have a hearing impairment who are helped to retain or recover their ability to communicate with their social group and the wider world through better hearing and communication. It also supports family friends and members of the local community coming into daily contact with hard of hearing people as they become informed about better communication with people with hearing loss. Our work significantly improves quality of life for those coping with hearing loss.
Our impact on the communityCAMTAD volunteers made or received more than 10,000 visits in 2011-2012 and the demands on our service continue to increase.
Our work significantly improves quality of life for those coping with hearing loss and helps people to continue to live independently in their own homes.
Volunteers get immense satisfaction out of participating in work which gets very highly rated by service users.
