Casa Lusa is a registered charity number 1154563, which delivers services and support for members of the Portuguese community in particular, but not exclusively, helping them to integrate into the British society. We do this by engaging with disadvantaged and isolated people through effective outreach into communities and successful advice and information services and health & wellbeing activities in East London.
Why the community needs usWe are asking for donations to raise enough funds to open a space which will be a Hub to support community engagement amongst Portuguese speakers and other ethnic minorities in East London. It will offer activities and projects such as English classes and arts/crafts activities as well as information on welfare and employment, which will improve their conditions of life and their general wellbeing.
Our impact on the communityOur users and beneficiaries will get continuous support with translations, information and advice in applying to social security benefits, making hospital appointments, support finding English classes as well as support in finding employment.
We welcome volunteers with experience in sewing, arts and crafts and jewellery making to join our charity project
