Champion Bowland supports local projects in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Champion Bowland has been raising funds for ten years. We raises funds from visitor donations, charitable activities and other sources. We are proud of introducing individuals and groups to the unique landscape and culture of the Forest of Bowland as well as funding education, environmental and access projects. For example through school visits or funding Trampers (off-road mobility scooters) to enable all families to enjoy our special landscape .

Our impact on the community
We've awarded £13,460 in grants to 28 projects involving 5 parish councils, 2 schools, 3 churches and 14 community organisations. Projects include:
6 projects creating hay meadows
4 community events from theatre to a photographic exhibition
A heritage trail, a shelter and a bird hide
2 grants to the RSPB to support education
28 groups making 52 farm visits involving 1,496 school children
Donation of an all-terrain mobility scooter (a tramper) based at Gisburn Forest - one of six in the AONB.
