We help marginalised people find their confidence and skills, make friends, and move forward in their lives through the joy of singing together in a choir. We currently have four choirs (two in London, one in Birmingham, and one in Liverpool) and we'll be starting a brand new choir in another UK city later this year!...
Why the community needs usMany people who are homeless or marginalised are lonely and isolated. Our weekly choir rehearsals are a safe space where people come together in trust and support each other's endeavours. We help our choir members to start getting their lives back on track, by building their confidence, skills, self-belief and pride. And we believe that the positive nature of our public performances benefits the wider community, by tackling head-on the stigma faced by homeless and vulnerable people.
Our impact on the communityLast year, we worked with more than 200 people - and this year we hope to work with many more. 96% of our choir members say they have made friends at the Choir with No Name, and 94% report an increase in confidence. Every week, we see people's self-belief blossom and their confidence grow as they sing out in rehearsals and share dinner with the other members afterwards. And our members get an incredible sense of achievement from performing in public, on stages big and small.
