CORNWALL COMMUNITY CIRCUS TRAINING - FITNESS AND FUN - NEW SKILLS - HEALTH FOR BODY AND MIND
To promote mental and physical health in Cornwall's Communities. Especially focussed on young people in need and the most deprived communities. We have a proven track record that training in safe local spaces, in team work, confidence and healthy exercises using dance, clown, mime, acrobatics and circus skills, promotes positive creativity and boosts self esteem and builds the confidence to progress in a variety of pathways to further education and work destinations.
Why the community needs usWe support 600+ young people in Cornwall to gain training in exciting new skills and 120 + young people to gain a qualification (GCSE equivalent) - often this is their first qualification. We run circus clubs across Cornwall promoting active fun exercise for all abilities and disabilities... enabling isolated children to meet up and work together. Young people are supported to perform at, create, and run local events such as Cornwall's Children's Festival - PLAYFEST (Aug 3) in Truro.
Our impact on the communityCirco Kernow has had a 78% retention over the last 3 years and aims to train 500 young people each year in Cornwall's Communities; with 100 GSCE equivalent qualifications. Graduates go on to Colleges, university and work.
