Columcille aims to ensure health, well-being and a sense of community for over 170 adults with learning disabilities and complex needs from across Edinburgh who are at risk of isolation, exclusion and ill health. Columcille provides workshops, creative activities and therapies that develop social and occupational skills, confidence and self-esteem.
Why the community needs usColumcille offers a caring, supportive place for people with learning disabilities to take part in music, drama, art, crafts, joinery, café and garden activities to develop skills and create community together. Columcille meets the needs of people with learning disabilities by helping them lead productive, active lives.
Our impact on the communityOf the men and women attending Columcille in 2015, the following was achieved: - 91% have improved networks (social/community) - 95% are developing skills - 95% have improved confidence and feel happy and satisfied most of the time
