Our key focus is Older People (incl those with dementia) and Physical & Learning Disabilities (SEN)_
Our mission is to engage with specific groups of the community to facilitate fitness and activity using golf as the vehicle. The low impact intensity of golf means that it can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of ability or previous experience. Our goals are to remove all barriers; improve people's individual sense of physical and mental well-being; reduce isolation; promote social inclusion and to broaden our research to evidence what we do and effect change within the community.
Why the community needs usWe work primarily across Surrey & South London and reached 6994 people last year, 42% had never played golf before. Through observation and feedback our programmes have the ability to reach out to people in different ways. Staff tell us "Community Golf is really enlivening our social group. It gives them more physical energy and there is always a lovely upbeat mood". As the weeks go by we witness increased engagement as participants try and better their scores or top the leaderboard.

As a result of this programme participants will improve their health and wellbeing through achieving the following positive outcomes:-- Participants feel happier - Participants feel less isolated - Participants become more active - Participants demonstrate greater levels of social engagement - Participants improve their skill
