The Clock Tower Sanctuary - Supporting Young Homeless People in Brighton and Hove.
The Sanctuary helps young people aged 16-25 to deal with the chaos of homelessness and to get their lives back on track. Our Crisis Support includes access to hot meals, telephone and IT facilities, shower and laundry, storage for personal effects and friendly volunteers to talk to. Our Move-on Support includes one-to-one mentoring, skills building workshops and creative activities (cookery, yoga) to help young people gain the confidence to break away from homelessness and have a bright future. Why the community needs us
Brighton & Hove has the 2nd largest homeless population in the UK. Being young & homeless is one of the most traumatic, frightening & damaging experiences - a life that no one deserves. Almost all of our clients have had troubled early lives, where relationships with family have broken down. When they come to us, they are often extremely vulnerable & in a state of crisis. CTS is the only day centre specifically for 16-25 year olds. Together with your support, young people can get back on track. Our impact on the community
Last year we supported 177 homeless young people, helping them to make positive change and break the cycle of homelessness. Thanks to your generosity, we have celebrated many successes with young people: 16 clients entered training/education; 31 clients secured accommodation; 60 jobs were gained. We were also able to provided 1,144 showers, 4,454 meals and delivered 115 life skills workshops. Thank you for helping to change the lives of young people in our community.
We're always looking to recruit volunteers who can support to deliver our drop-in day centre. This includes; mentoring, talking to young people, running workshops, teaching life skills, fundraising.
