A Challenging Garden
The project will be open daily and staffed days week. there is a cafe on site where the families and carers can get refreshments at a reduced rate, if they are using the Community Sensory Garden, The service user's will be encouraged by are willing volunteers to take part in different events, at a slow pace at the pace of every different service user. there will be craft, basic gardening, planting seeds, reeding books, or just sitting back in a comfortable chair and enjoying nature.
Why they need our service With in the local community of Parr in St Helens mental illness is on the rise from Autism, ADHD, Dementia through to Self Harming and suicide in the teens, we all know the local councils have had there budgets cut, so we intend to make a difference, by creating and running a sensory garden, as a place where families, Carer's and people with mental health can come and feel safe. a place where they can meet like minded or just make some new friends. that's why we need this.
Plan and expected results The results of the project will be the 1st of its kind in the St Helens area, and if one person attends and is made to feel happy about themselves it will be a success, but with early intervention it will be a great success, as we have already been in communication with the local community and care homes and this is what is needed.
