Why the community needs usElland Silver Band is one of the countries oldest brass bands. We provide people with all ages the opportunity to learn and play a musical instrument. We also encourage young people to make a positive contribution to their local community through their performances at concerts and competitions.
Our impact on the communityThe Elland Silver Band was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2010.
The senior band has won awards in local and national competitions, performing around 30 concerts annually.
The Elland Silver Youth Band are the current Action Research Entertainment Champions and were National Youth Intermediate Champions in 2010. With over 35 members it is regarded as one of Yorkshire premier leading youth bands.
The Elland Silver Training has over 25 members aged from 7 - 70 years old.
We are always on the look out for new brass and percussion musicians to join one of our groups. We also offer opportunities for volunteers to assist with adminstration, marketing, fundraising, maintenance and organising events.
