We have three aims:
1. To help inclusive employers (who understand the benefits of a diverse workforce) find talented disabled candidates;
2. To help disabled job seekers find work with inclusive employers who will value their skills;
3. To promote the benefits of employing disabled people.
Why the community needs usDisabled people are twice as likely to be unemployed as non-disabled people. Disabled people finding work with inclusive employers helps:
Employers gain the business benefits of a more diverse workforce;
Disabled people have access to jobs getting them off benfits, earning an income and all the other advantages of being employed - self-esteem, dignity, a sense of purpose, independence;
Society - fewer people on benefits costs the economy less
Our impact on the communityEmployers tell us they struggle to attract disabled people, and through advertising their jobs on Evenbreak they soon attract far more talented disabled applicants.
Disabled people have had years of discrimination - by applying for jobs on Evenbreak they are confident that the employer will be enlightened enough to look beyond their disabilities and see what they have to offer.
Candidates have called this "life-changing". One said "I feel like a human being again for the first time in years!"
