Festive Road is a specialist outdoor arts company with a carnival flavour, based in Milton Keynes

To be an inclusive & innovative community arts organisation; engaging with people, schools, communities & business in artistic, collaborative & creative activities; bringing people of all cultures, abilities & ages together through 'events' (Paraffinalia, Walking With Giants, Diwali) & community creative sessions. We aim to bring communities to life, making 'art' relevant, participatory and accessible to everyone; with an emphasis on confidence building, creative skills & cultural celebration.

Why the community needs us

Our activities benefit the community socially & economically, helping raise the profile of MK regionally, nationally & internationally. Hundreds of people take part in our workshops, creative sessions and outdoor events. As part of our ethos, Festive Road is committed to protecting and improving the environment by recycling commonly used materials such as mixed paper, cardboard, plastic and glass bottles, aluminium cans and hazardous materials such as batteries and electronic equipment.

Our impact on the community

Our general ethos for festivals & carnivals is to allow people to interact with the event as much as possible. This has an incredible effect of raising local spirit & promoting cross cultural interaction. Our workshops & creative sessions, plus educational projects with local primary schools, together with our outreach work in some of the most deprived areas of Milton Keynes, enable people to take part in arts activities which are proven to be beneficial to people's mental well-being.

Volunteers needed

Volunteer with us as a Festival Maker at our Walking with Giants Parade and Paraffinalia Lantern Parade events, or during the year behind the scenes. We have all sorts of roles available for all sorts of different people.
