Why the community needs us POINT is a unique and very successful service that has been operating for more than 22 years. We are the only Charity Youth Project in North Pembrokeshire that is open 6 days a week, 50 weeks of the year. Although we tend to attract young people from deprived or complex backgrounds, our safe and welcoming space offers universal access to all young people of North Pembrokeshire Providing a holistic service open to all young people. We recognise that the difficult transition from childhood into adulthood can be long lasting and we provide support right through these difficult years in age appropriate ways (e.g youth clubs, employability support, adventure activities, mentoring support, counselling, community projects, gardening, healthy living and to just have fun). All our staff are qualified Youth Workers and are passionate about improving the lives of young people, our staff all have their unique skills which compliment the service we offer. Most statutory and some voluntary services and other agencies like CAHMS and Youth Offending end at 18 years. We are able to offer support and guidance to young people up until the age of 26, bridging the gap in support so many young people need.
Our impact on the community As a well-established, long standing youth drop in provision, with many staff who live in the community, we have a great connection to the community. A big part of why we have been have been successful is due to our reputation as the lead providers in, informal opportunities for engagement of young people from 11-25 years. We are trusted by our community to bring a professional approach to youth work and a organisation they can always count to be there for young people and the community.
