Forward is a day service supporting approximately 120 people (members) with learning disabilitities.
Our aim is for everybody to progress, be included in their local community and engage in meaningful activities of their choice. Our programmes include sensory integration, health and fitness, communication, horticulture, hobbies, advocacy, independent living skills and supporting people towards employment. We have an Enterprise Zone which is dedicated to supporting members to develop work skills. Activities include a t-shirt printing project, making jewellery, candles, cards and wood products.
Why the community needs usWe provide opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to socialise and gain confidence and skills. Our premises are fully accessible and include a training kitchen, wet room, soundbeam room, sensory room and workshop. All activities are developed within our essential criteria of Making Choices and Decisions, Community Life, Money Skills, Independent Living and Self Support. We aim to enable members to make more choices and decisions for themselves.
