We provide a safe, supportive and friendly space for refugees and asylum seekers new to Swindon.
Through our daily Drop-in, we offer the chance for people from all over the world to meet, mingle, make friends and find mutually supportive ways of adjusting to life in the UK. We assist with integrating a diverse population into the local community - through education and training, volunteering, events, and supporting job searches and work placements. Why the community needs us
We help to reduce the isolation facing some of the most vulnerable people in our society. People claiming asylum have fled war, persecution and been through unimaginably difficult times. Harbour offers a chance to become human again, to make friends and get the support needed to establish a new life in the UK.Our impact on the community
We welcome hundreds of people from more than 40 different countries each year. As the only service in the area dedicated solely to supporting refugees and asylum seekers, we offer support not found anywhere else. At the Harbour, you are assured a warm welcome, practical help and the chance to make friends for life. We know this because that's what our many visitors tell us.
We are always on the lookout for compassionate people who care about human rights. See our website for our latest volunteering opportunities.
