Musical education for children and young people.
Junior band aims to teach children to play brass instruments and percussion and to further their musical education. It will give children the opportunity to play together in a band of as professional standard as possible. We offer music lessons and insturment hire along with full band rehearsals for a begginners and a main band for many and varied different performing opportunities.
Why the community needs usThe band adds an extra dimension to our community and creates a link between generations and traditions through music. When the band tours internationally they carry the great name of youth and Hebden Bridge with them.
Our impact on the communityOur most important outcome is the involvement and engagement of young people in music making as a cohesive group of which they can be immensly proud. The result of our projects and activities is a sociable supportive learning and performing environment, where all are welcomed, valued and celebrated. The band is suported by parents, carers, volunteers and friends of the band and this support gives the band a kind of big family feel - a lovely thing to be part of for all.
