Help for Milton Keynes Homeless and Vulnerable, offering support and practical solutions
Help Our Homeless MK works with homeless and vulnerable people in Milton Keynes. We run drop in sessions, and hand out donations of clothing, bedding, toiletries and so on to the homeless directly on the street. Homeless people can come to our drop ins to collect donations or get off the streets, seek support, and keep warm.
Why the community needs usOur impact on the homeless community - Our group has made a massive impact within the homeless community. They know that they can rely on us that we will be there when they cry out for help. For those lucky few that manage to be housed we continue to support them also by providing them with everything they need to set up a home and we continue to support them for as long as they may require us . Transition from the street to accommodation can be incredibly overwhelming and often lonely .
Our impact on the communityAlthough a pair of socks is always something a homeless person will gratefully receive the main thing our group gives is empathy and hope. We support our homeless all year round. Our team of volunteers go out three times a week shadowing the soup run and we provide the street homeless with clothing ,tents ,sleeping bags ,guidance , information and always hugs if required . To be homeless is to be unseen, uncared for , abandoned and unloved. To be homeless is is to be cold, scared, ill and alone.
