We will be recognised as the gateway to a better life for all unpaid carers in Hillingdon
We provide advice and support to unpaid carers in the London Borough of Hillingdon of all ages, who care for someone who is ill, frail, disabled, or has mental health, drug or alcohol problems. Our services will support carers to make informed choices about their caring roles; remain healthy and socially connected; access emotional support when caring gets tough, and; mitigate against some of the negative impacts that caring can have on lives.
Why the community needs usData from the 2011 Census for England and Wales shows that there are 25,906 carers in the London Borough of Hillingdon, which is around 10% of the boroughs population. We are supporting 23% of them.
Our impact on the communityFeedback from carers of all ages shows that our services are valued and of a high quality. The year on year growth on our ranges of services and the investment made by external funders is indicative of the regard for the standard of support we provide. One carer said "A smile and a welcome lifts the spirits. Hillingdon Carers is a place where I feel I wont be judged and i am with people who understand what problems I am facing; most people don't understand this."
