Home-Start Norfolk supports families, parents and children to give children the best possible start in life. Our fantastic parent volunteers provide weekly support to families in need by offering emotional and practical support in the privacy of their own homes.
Why the community needs usChildren, parents and whole families benefit from Home-Start's support - empowering and enabling parents to give their children the best possible start in life, enabling families to access their own community services and seek support. By training local volunteers to support families, not only does the family benefit but the volunteers themselves gain skills and confidence that helps them become more involved in their community, for some leading to further education, training or a new job.
Our impact on the communityEach year we support hundreds of families who are struggling to cope and provide the best start for their children. We support children and parents to improve their mental health, manage challenging behaviour, overcome a disability, maintain a healthier lifestyle and for children to be prepared to start their early years education. The early years of a child's life are the most critical time in determining a child's future health, life chances and happiness.
We are seeking volunteers with experience and enthusiasm to help us run events and raise our profile in our local communities.
