Family Post Natal Illness Project
We offer a bespoke combination of services to help families to manage their experience of Post Natal Illness, to improve their experience of parenting and their relationship with their child. The services include one to one emotional and practical support at home or in the community from one of our trained Peer Mentor volunteers, group support for parents and their children, courses in understanding and managing Post Natal Illness, and a counselling service.
Why they need our service Parenting very young children can be an exhausting, isolating experience for many. Some parents find their mental health and wellbeing is significantly affected by Post Natal Illness. This project supports those families affected by Post Natal Illness in the various forms it takes.
Plan and expected results We support around 50 different families each year through the project, and approximately 50 different children benefit as a result. The effects of Post Natal Illness, which can include anxiety, depression and feelings of isolation, will be reduced significantly by the project support, helping families to look forward to a positive future with their children.
