The ethos of Inclusion Ventures is turning Exclusion of children and young people into Inclusion!
Formed in 2004, Inclusion Ventures was set up to improve the lives of vulnerable young people aged 7 - 19 years from the most disadvantaged areas of West Claction; to engage young people in the heart of their communities and take part of positive leisure pursuits.
Why the community needs usWe are an inclusive youth organisation set up to engage children in an area of high economic and social need, considered to be hard to reach. Our community cafe enables young people to develop work skills whilst providing nutritious meals and social opportunity for the senior community members. We established ourselves in West Clacton 15 years ago and as a result of that many of our young people develop the goodwill to give back to their communities, we now employ 5 ex service users.
Our impact on the communityWe address three key issues identified as specific to our children. Health issues, both phsical and emotional, low educational attainment and behavioural difficulties that impact how they are viewed by community and contribute to isolation. We provide a range of positive leisure activites out of school hours, for children aged between 7 and 19 years. All of our activities provide an opportunity to address the identified issues.
