Manchester YMCA 3 Peaks Challenge in Aid of Mental Health in Elite Sport

On Tuesday 13th August an intrepid Manchester YMCA team took on the might of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. Braving wind, hail, rain and sleet they all successfully completed the 24 mile challenge in under 12 hours.

Why they need our service

Everybody has mental health which, like physical health, can change throughout our lives. One in four people in the UK will be affected by mental illness in any year, the most common being depression and anxiety. So it should come as no surprise that professional sportspeople will face these issues too. With your help YMCA Manchester will build on the skills and knowledge gained through their Mental Health project to develop and deliver a mental health program to young people in sports.
