MAP is here for young people, helping them to find their way, to lead happier, healthier lives.
Our aim is that all young people have the right to access the quality information, advice, counselling and support they need for their holistic development. This encompasses physical, social and emotional well-being. MAP's vision is that all young people will know what it is to be valued, and that they will have the support and information they need to make a successful transition into adulthood.
Why the community needs usMAP is here for all young people, and particularly those who have stresses and problems in their lives, such as homelessness or debt, have emotional worries, or are finding it hard to navigate their way through to adulthood because they lack family support. We are advisers, counsellors and youth workers who work together to provide the best help we can in a way that makes sense to young people. We provide education and training for young people, parents, carers and other workers.
Our impact on the communityMAP supports around 3,000 young people each year. On average, 50-60 young people come to our Norwich and Great Yarmouth drop-in centre every day, and our outreach activities support many more each week. MAP provides an essential service to our community's young people, helping them break cycles of poverty and disadvantage, raise aspirations, increase their ability to care for themselves and contribute to society in a way which is meaningful to them.
