Creating opportunities for young people and disadvantaged to participate in sport
To encourage young people, both boys and girls, as well as the disabled and disadvantaged to start playing sport in general and cricket in particular and to progress to playing at the highest level. As a result to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle and to follow the traditions of good sportsmanship.
Why the community needs usEncouraging young people to become active and resist the desire to stay at home and play computer games. To build an ethos of 'teams' not 'gangs'. To play by the rules and not be tempted to cheat. To enable families with limited income to see their children playing sport at minimal cost. To educate youngsters in how working together brings social benefits and at the same time enjoyment. For disabled people to follow up on the successes of the Paralympics and feel included and respected.
Our impact on the communityTo achieve all of the above and to see local Isle of Wight youngsters representing the County and progressing to represent England and Great Britain in their age groups.
Yes. To maintain the ground and run the office.
