Supporting Deaf/hard of hearing /hearing people within the local community .
We aim to provide better integration and awareness within the local community for Deaf/hard of hearing /hearing people of all ages.Our weekly social meetings provide relief from social isolation and offer support both emotionally and practically.With trips and outings when financially possible we help to build stronger and more active individuals and families and ensure full access to the 'hearing world' helping our members overcome difficult barriers that are in their way.
Why the community needs usMany deaf Clubs have closed down in this past year - increasing social isolation for deaf and hard of hearing people in the community - we provide them with that vital link to the hearing world and to other deaf people locally. We provide social and practical support and advice at our weekly social gatherings. We help break down the communication and social barriers within the community - aiming for access for all.
