Mind is the mental health charity. We aim to support anyone who experiences mental distress.
We work to promote and support good mental health within the areas of Northampton, Daventry, and S Northants. We aim to deliver high quality and appropriate services for people who experience mental ill health, promoting recovery, independence and integration at all times; to facilitate and support community integration and participation for people with mental health problems; and, to raise awareness of mental health and challenge the stigma associated with mental illness.
Why the community needs usOur impact on the communityWe always welcome new volunteers who want to support people who experience mental ill health. The skills required can be quite varied from creative abilities, to group working and 1-1 work skills. What is imperative though is that the volunteers come with enthusiasm, good listening skills, confidence, and the time to commit. In return we offer training, supervision, work-based experience in mental health, and we pay volunteers expenses.
