We are here to provide space for local people to meet friends, learn new skills, acquire experience in order to get a job, and to eat healthy food in a cafe. We organise groups, classes: paid and free. On weekends, we hold community events and seasonal celebrations.
Why the community needs usOur vision is to create a vibrant community place which can open up communication, ideas and as well as employment and training opportunities. This is how we see it: it would be a hub for our community, encouraging social interaction and supporting local entrepreneurial talents, addressing the needs of our immediate population, we'd like to establish a community-run facility that provides a physical space to network, trade, and nurture a sense of well-being.
Our impact on the communityHundreds of adults and children engaged in various activities at our events and celebrations, such as Cornholme Open Gardens Day, Sun Party and Village-Wide Treasure Hunt. People receive support with their job searching at our Job Club, advice at Our Welfare session. Everyone can access the internet...but we still need funds to make the building comfortable, to improve the heating and sort out the garden.
We need Cafe Volunteers, Gardeners, Job Club coordinators, Toddlers Group helpers, and Caretakers to keep the building clean.
