We help women to escape life on the streets and reach their full potential.
One25 reaches out to women trapped in or vulnerable to street sex-work, supporting them to break free and build new lives away from violence, poverty and addiction.
Why the community needs usOne25 supports around 230 of Bristol's most vulnerable and marginalised women. Most of the 150 women working the streets are homeless, malnourished and addicted to drugs/alcohol. Many are traumatised from childhood abuse and violence in their adult lives. Yet these women have enormous potential. One25 enables them to break free and build new lives through crisis support on our night outreach van and afternoon drop-in centre and permanently through the one-to-one care from our casework team.
Our impact on the communitySince One25 began 22 years ago, the number of women on the streets has almost halved. Last year we supported 227 vulnerable women: 45 women were treated for addiction; 139 were in stable housing; 72 were helped to access victim support and 63 reduced their offending. 37 stopped street sex work for at least 6 months and a record 39 were prevented from starting.
We hold regular volunteer information evenings for those interested in helping on our night outreach van, afternoon drop-in centre or in office or fundraising roles. Please check http://one25.org.uk/get-involved/volunteer/ for further details.
